Healthy Drinks

Saint Hildegard says it is suitable to drink a bit while eating so as to ensure  good digestion. « One works while eating as does the millstone while grinding, and this  warms up, dries out and makes one thirsty. If one did not drink from time to time during meals, with small mouthfuls, one would grow dull intellectually and physically. And one would not be providing oneself with good blood juice and good digestion.  But if one drinks excessively during a meal, one’s humors are inundated and thereby diluted. »

A few herbal teas that are excellent for your health: fennel, camomille, sage, lemon balm, and lavender.

Note : « Wine must be mellowed with a bit of water or a bit of bread so that its strength and warmth may be tempered and balanced. »
